5 Security Threats You Must Avoid in 2008
The general viruses and worms are not the only problems people will deal with in 2008. The computer security will be menaced by spyware and rouge ware. The list below shows this year possible threats.

1. Bot & Botnets
The automated spamming activities performed by a network of computers are known as bots and botnets. The most common contaminator is Storm worm botnet. It can not only pass undetected but, after improving its technique, its presence is growing bigger and bigger. Many users are not aware of the bot attacks on their computers that become zombies of a large army.

2. Phishing Sites
Behind the back of a reliable email with clickable links, through the phishing attacks are obtained personal information, used in the financial transactions. The online banking community, because of the unawareness and lack of security measures, is regarded as sure victim.

3. Vishing
New in the cyber crime world, deriving from phishing. By means of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls, hackers steal personal and financial details. The breakthrough of the VoIP and IP telephony on its market will bring vishing everywhere soon.

4. Rootkits
Designed to get the 'root access' or controlling the system while avoiding detection from anti-virus scans. The thought that resilient anti-rootkits will detect the presence of malware is combated by the fact that advance rootkits make the anti-rootkits ineffective.

5. Mobile Malware
The development of mobile phones immediately led to their wide-spread use. India is not diverging: using the mobile to access the internet has become common deed. But this is a two side situation: the mobile malware infected the handsets.

Quick Heal Total Security 2008, through PC2Mobile, scans and cleans viruses from Mobile phones using a computer. Brands like Nokia, Sony Ericsson , Samsung, LG, Motorola, IMate & O2 can be cleaned.
