Firewalls

DSCI Corporation, a leading Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) in New England, has partnered with Fortinet, a worldwide leader of Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions, to provide firewall solutions to its IP voice, MPLS and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) customers.

“Because our target market is the small to medium business, often with multiple sites, we saw the need to offer firewall solutions that would be appropriate for environments from a home office to a corporate site. We selected the FortiGate line from Fortinet because the company not only has a reputation our customers will respect, but also because they offer units specifically designed for each of the business environments we serve,” explains Jeff Kubick, VP of Marketing at DSCI.

DSCI offers three different FortiGate models available either as a purchase or on a rental basis. Additionally, customers have the option of letting DSCI manage the firewall or self-managing. FortiGate firewalls effectively block both application and network-borne threats with an all-in-one Unified Threat Management system.

The security management bundle (antivirus, antispam, content filtering and intrusion prevention) is offered as a separate add-on allowing customers to opt out if they would rather retain their current solution. The three FortiGate models have been tested and approved to integrate well with DSCI’s network services.

“Offering end-to-end network solutions is DSCI’s business focus. The FortiGate firewalls are a perfect addition because they let our customers select a unit that is perfectly sized and priced for their needs whether it’s a home office environment, a retail operation, or a corporate office,” comments James Maloney, VP of Sales at DSCI.

The FortiGate premises-based firewall solutions provide the following industry-standard applications:
  • Anitvirus with antispyware protection
  • Intrusion prevention service
  • Antispam protection service
  • SSL and IPSEC VPN service
  • Traffic shaping service
  • Web content filtering
