Windows Security

Symantec on Monday offered public beta versions of Norton Internet Security 2007 and Norton AntiVirus 2007 for Microsoft's imminent Windows Vista.

The final releases of Symantec's Vista-compatible customer security products are planned to be presented for purchase when the operating system will be launched early next year. Symantec plans to have business editions of its security tools for Vista on the market by December.

Both betas, or test versions, are available for download. They work with the first releases of Vista, Symantec declared in a statement.

People who purchased Norton Internet Security 2007 and Norton AntiVirus 2007 for Window XP are qualified for a free Windows Vista compatibility upgrade when the operating system ships, Symantec said.
