Security Incidents

Trend Micro Inc., a global leader in Internet content security, announced that Trend Micro LeakProof was awarded five out of five stars and received SC Magazine's Best Buy award. Trend Micro LeakProof appliance received this recognition in the Extrusion Prevention group test.

According to the review, which can be found in the November 2008 issue of SC Magazine, Trend Micro LeakProof is "an easy to use, excellent performing product with too many features to be covered in [just one] review." The review found the product to be very solid with very well done client-software. The product received five stars for its feature set, ease of use, performance, value for money and five stars overall.

"Data breaches can carry very serious consequences. Organizations need to implement Data Leak Prevention (DLP) systems to protect themselves against inadvertent and malicious data leaks from email, instant messaging and other channels," said Glen Kosaka, director of DLP marketing at Trend Micro. "Trend Micro LeakProof automates the monitoring process, blocks unauthorized attempts to leak the data, and educates employees about the proper handling of the data. It's an innovative solution which simplifies the task of monitoring and preventing data leaks."

Trend Micro LeakProof protects customer and employee privacy, and intellectual property. Its unique approach combines endpoint-based enforcement with highly accurate fingerprinting and content-matching technology. LeakProof provides the broadest protection of any endpoint client including USB, Webmail, encrypted Webmail, IM, and HTTPS -- whether on or offline. The LeakProof solution includes both the Anti-Leak™ Client software and the DataDNA™ Server appliance, two key components that collaborate to protect sensitive information assets from data loss, data theft, and insider threats.

The Extrusion Prevention group test is in the November 2008 edition of SC Magazine (US version). It is also available online at http://www.scmagazineus.com/Trend-Micro-LeakProof/Review/2632/
