Tall Emu has released Version 3 of Online Armor personal firewall software, which promises to be even better than the award winning version 2 - winner of “The Best Firewall Software of 2008”. The new version of Online Armor now supports Vista (32bit), offers even better protection, has an improved GUI interface, is easier to use and is more robust. It is also now available in Italian and French with many more languages to be rolled out over the next couple of months.
Online Armor has become a user’s favourite for some time, and their input has been sought in the development of the product. Mike Nash, founder and CEO of Tall Emu, explains: “We are very excited about this release. It has taken a lot more time and effort than we had anticipated, and I can’t say enough about the support we have had from our community. Our team have worked very hard to get to this point and we are very proud of what we have achieved. “
Main summary of the new release:
- Enhanced keylogger and ARP protection, improved program guard, extended autoruns database and enhanced web shield protection.
- Redesigned User Interface: The GUI is completely revamped for easier use, including new images, resizable forms and enhanced log viewer.

- Multi-language support: The following languages are now available: Italian, French, Dutch and German. Russian, Czech and Chinese translations are also in the pipeline
- Easier installation with a ‘Trust all’ mode and ability to install over the top of an old version using pre-existing settings.
These improvements will no doubt enable Online Armor to maintain its position as the top performer when tested by the independent firewall security specialist David Matousec in his ‘Firewall Challenge’.
Online Armor is still available as both a FREE Personal Firewall for basic functionality and a Premium product which includes the advanced features such as Banking Mode, Run Safer, Phishing Filter and many more. The Premium version is currently available at a reduced rate of US$24.00 until the end of October, 2008.
