Posted by Max on 2008/9/24 9:00:00 (1590 reads)
Adware - Spyware

Tenebril, a division of Process Software, today introduced a new free version of SpyCatcher Express 5.1, a leading antispyware software for home users. It protects all Web surfers from the most complex spyware threats that pose a serious risk to online consumers. The latest release of SpyCatcher Express includes a new state-of-the-art spyware Profiling Engine with improved performance and support for creating a restore point to protect users from losing important files.

The new spyware Profiling Engine provides enhanced DeepDefense. This technology prevents the installation of rootkits, keyloggers, and other malicious programs safely. It intercepts the initial communication that software makes to a system, which blocks the installation of aggressive spyware. DeepDefense is embedded in the operating system and delivers the best protection from new threats.

To keep computers safe between scans, SpyCatcher monitors PCs for any suspicious activity with Advanced Behavioral Analysis. It notifies users of applications that perform suspicious behaviors that are typical of spyware. To obtain the full benefits of the behavioral monitoring and other features that provide additional protection, customers will need to upgrade to the full version of SpyCatcher which is offered at an annual subscription fee of $29.95.

"SpyCatcher Express is a highly praised free service with a loyal following of customers," said Brian McDonald, Process Software President and CEO. "Spyware continues to pose a serious risk to all Web surfers. The motivation of spyware distributors is to steal personal information from its victims and their techniques for doing this have become more sophisticated over the past few years. SpyCatcher Express and the complete version of SpyCatcher have been upgraded with a new and more powerful antispyware technology to protect users." SpyCatcher Express can be downloaded from the Tenebril Web site at http://www.tenebril.com
