Process Software, a premier supplier of communications software solutions to mission-critical environments, announced the release of SpyCatcher Enterprise v5.0.The latest version offers a new spyware Profiling Engine, which includes multiple layers of technology to stop the most sophisticated spyware threats.
It differs from its predecessor because it offers advanced behavioral spyware detection, an improved web-based interface for easier configuration and management, mobile computing support, robust Active Directory integration, and better performance. These new features provide the most comprehensive approach to identifying new and emerging spyware threats while integrating easily into a corporate environment.
New Spyware Profiling Engine The Profiling Engine includes advanced behavioral analysis for proactive protection, which is better at identifying spyware than the first-generation behavioral analysis solutions. It analyzes and correlates a broad range of suspicious behaviors with applications and systems in a network. The results of the analysis are put into proper context so administrators can set policies on what applications are allowed to run in their organization.
SpyCatcher Enterprise includes additional layers of technology that complement the advanced behavioral detection. It analyzes potential threats against databases of legitimate applications, spyware producing vendors that have digitally signed their software, and spyware signatures. The Profiling Engine includes DeepDefense™, an application-intercepting technology which blocks known spyware from executing by intercepting the operating system calls that launch these applications. Most antispyware solutions leave PCs vulnerable to problems by allowing malware to run in memory before being detected and cleaned. SpyCatcher Enterprise prevents most spyware from installing and damaging systems.
Enhanced Enterprise Web-Based Management SpyCatcher Enterprise's new web management console provides better insight into potential spyware in an organization. Its flexible configuration allows administrators to decide which applications should run in their organization by setting and enforcing policies. The navigation is easy between system-wide, group and computer views saving an administrator time with a minimal learning curve.
Improved Performance and Integration SpyCatcher Enterprise gives administrators the flexibility to deploy SpyCatcher on various types of systems without impacting their performance. The low CPU-scanning option uses less than 10% of a system's overall CPU.
SpyCatcher Enterprise maintains a copy of Active Directory on the server so database lookups are efficient. Administrators can configure a time interval for incremental updates from the Active Directory server.
