There will be a trial version of the F-Secure Mobile Security(TM) 3.3 for UIQ accessible in selected Sony Ericsson UIQ devices. The two companies will be joining forces in the area of mobile security to ensure a safe and complex mobile computing experience through smarphones.

Since modern smartphones have become just as elaborate and highly connected multipurpose computing devices as PC’s, they ultimately require the same level of protection as their big brothers. The security system of F-Secure Mobile Security 3.3 for UIQ is based on an integrated antivirus and firewall.

Already having solutions alike available for S60 and Windows Mobile, the F-Secure provides award-winning solutions for the most popular platforms in the fast increasing smartphone market.
It is of utmost importance that at this stage when smartphones have reached this kind of sophistication and success on the market and will most certainly drive the services of the mobile internet the industry to start develop safeguards that will prevent a surge of threats as in the case of PC's.

Samu Konttinen, Vice President, Mobile Solutions Business Unit, F-Secure declared their enthusiasm regarding this partnership and their confidence in the UIQ product’s ability to preserve their pole position in the area of mobile security.

The demand for mobile security solutions is only to get higher in the future something that the company is ready to cope with - "We have products for all the major open smartphone platforms at the moment, and we will continue to expand our security solutions offering to meet the growing needs in the market", said Konttinen.
