TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (?IIJ?, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE Mothers: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the November 1 release of the IIJ Managed Firewall Service, a new managed security service that uses an anomaly detection(1) system and comes with a Service Level Agreement (SLA)(2).
As a part of the IIJ Managed Firewall Service, an IIJ security engineer will be able to remotely operate and manage firewall equipment that is installed on a customer?s premises. IIJ provides comprehensive support to maintain the customer?s network at a consistently high level of security?from renting and configuring the firewall equipment to operating, monitoring, and maintaining it. The new service will reduce customer cost and manpower burdens, and protect customer networks from potential threats. Proper access controls will be applied to corporate LANs, WANs, and other security zones.
Through its experience providing the IIJ Security Premium service and the IIJ Security Standard service, IIJ has an established track record of managing firewalls on mission-critical servers for online trading companies and other large, end-user services.
The IIJ Managed Firewall Service has an SLA that leverages IIJ?s system management expertise, and combined with the year round, 24-hour engineering support option, makes it an effective, reliable firewall service for critical applications. The cyber attack detection feature has been strengthened with anomaly detection and other functions so that unauthorized access can be detected quickly on corporate LANs and WANs as well as on servers connected to the Internet.
IIJ has plans to introduce UTM(3) equipment with this service to provide an even broader array of features.
IIJ will continue to develop its security services to make them stronger and give our customers access to all the network security features available. http://www.iij.ad.jp/en/
