P2P Security News : p2p lawsuits dot com Vs. p2p extortion dot com - which side are you?

P2P Security News

Earlier this year I’ve been talking about the RIAA’s initiative to settle the copyright infringement cases before they went to court. You could even get a discount if you accept to store p2p logs for 180 days.  In plain English, this is buying you out to become a rat and snitch on your friends. Well, www.p2plawsuits.com website  is up but the community responded with  www.p2pextortion.com . Take a good look and judge for yourself which side you are .

The www.p2plawsuits.com bluntly puts you in a corner and really gives you no choice :

Does it matter that I did not know my activity was illegal?
Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. But it is also important to note that the music community has for years undertaken vigorous educational efforts to inform people about the laws.

If I promise never to do this again, do I still have to pay?
Yes. The settlements are designed to recoup a very small piece of the massive damage inflicted on the music community as a result of piracy.

Can I avoid this lawsuit if I immediately delete the illegal music and file-trafficking service from my computer?
No. Furthermore, once litigation becomes a possibility, deleting music files or the P2P service from your computer would violate your obligation to preserve evidence.

On the other hand,  the www.p2pextortion.com is quite funny and puts things in a different perspective.

What if I didn't know any better?
Look, when The Law makes The Law, no matter how complicated it is for you, you better be paying attention. You know damn well for years we have been threading your type. You should know better than to fuck with us.

I'll never cross you again, I swear! Honest!
Tough shit. You're gonna pay for what you did to us. You disrespected The Big Four and the rest of the family who work hard to make music for you, you ungrateful little fuck.

I'll delete all of the music I stole from you and the p2p software. Just, please, leave me and my family alone.
Ha! Too late. Plus, if you do that, we gotta beat you some more because we don't know just how much you stole. So just to make sure you pay for what you did, you get an extra beating until you pay up (or can we?).

As said before, it’s up to you to judge who's side are you because because there is no neutrality :)
