Astaro Corporation (www.astaro.co.uk), a leader in providing unified threat management security solutions, has announced today that Astaro Security Gateway V6.300 has received the coveted Common Criteria certification from the German Federal Office for Information Security BSI (Bundesamt f?r Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik).
Common Criteria for IT Security Evaluation (CC), also known as ISO standard 15408, was collectively developed by the national security organisations of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the Netherlands. It is a standard for evaluating the security features and capabilities of information technology products and is accepted by many countries around the globe.

After BSI accepted the Astaro Security Gateway product into evaluation in November 2005, the product was then thoroughly scrutinised under a long and rigorous evaluation phase conducted by atsec information security, an independent laboratory with many years of experience in Common Criteria evaluation?

The Common Criteria certificate has been issued for Astaro Security Gateway V6.300, which runs on all Astaro appliances as well as on Intel-compatible servers.
