I am running BlackBox Password Mgr v3 on my Windows XP machine with no problems. I just purchased a new laptop with Win 7 installed. I have been trying for many hours to get BBPM v3 running on the Win 7 machine. I've installed the product without any problem, copied the .kdb file over many many times and cannot get the password manager to accept the new imported file.

The v3 product installs fine on Win 7, I just cannot get the database file working.
More details...I copied the database file from the XP machine. When I installed BBPM, I gave it a brand new passwork. Then, I tried to import the database file that I copied onto the new machine. Then, it asks for that password. When you enter it, it gives you an error message "Invalid/wrong key." I know I am entering the right key, cause it's the same one i used successfully on the XP machine.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated...I'm at my wits end.

Hi!

did you try to copy the xp kdb file on the Win7 machine and Open it ( instead of import )?. The password which locks the kbd is contained in the kdb itself.

On theother hand, if you set up a new password on exporting the kdb, then you sould use it on Win7 when importing.

hth.
